Color Your World ~ the Few Spot Leopard is genetically the strongest "color" producer in the Appaloosa breed. (Snow cap blanketed horses are also considered strong color producers.) A true few spot leopard (like High Noon) must be born that color - not roaned or greyed to white.

High Noon's sire is a few spot leopard, and his dam is a bay roan mare - so he has both bay and black genes in his makeup.

High Noon has black mottled skin pigmentation, some black hairs in his mane and tail, and a touch of red on his front coronet bands. He produces both leopard and blanket patterns in his colorful offspring. The loudest color we get is out of 'solid' mares ! Like "YOR Pleasure Cruise" on the For Sale Page.

In the Canadian ApHCC Registry we may out-cross to AQHA and TB to produce registerable Appaloosa horses. At YOR Stock Farms we have a number of outstanding AQHA mares such as own daughters of Solanos Peppy San & grand-daughters of Easy Jet producing catty, cowy, colored High Noon foals.

Reiners looking for an advantage in the Show Ring should consider the Appaloosa horse !

The bone and durability of this breed are well known. They are willing minded and very athletic. They are also "spotted in the crowd" - so, be seen ! The Apps compete... (scroll down for details)

Bloodlines proven to be suited for Reining are available. Some carry a high percentage of AQHA blood, but some are very proudly Appaloosa - like High Noon at 87.5% Appaloosa-blood.

In 1998 at the prestigious "Canadian Supreme" Open Show in Red Deer, Alberta - Canada's premier Reining, Cowhorse & Cutting event which sees some 300-500 horses each year in competition - High Noon was the only Appaloosa to compete in the 3-Year Old Reining....He tied for 6th place out of some 46 horses in that Class, with a score of 271 ...placing ahead of such noteable riders as Vicki Braun on "Perrins Tivio Doc" (score 267), Kevin Pole on "Poco Tablet Award" (score 266.5), Roland Sawatzky on "Wranglers My Daddy" (score 268.5) & Jason Grimshaw on "Lil Sonitas Leana" (score 266.5). Note: High Noon has been trained & shown solely by his owner - Roger Johnson.

Famous AQHA reiners like "Wranglers War Leo" have placed behind Appaloosa reiners in NRHA competition (1986 Stakes & Futurities, MooseJaw, SK.)

High Noon's sire is possibly one of the "coolest" horses that has ever graced a showring - "High Sign Nugget" - with 5 World Championships in Working Cowhorse to his credit, plus countless other awards in Appaloosa and All-Breed competition. High Noon's dam is the great S/W Red Velvet, dam of several World & National Champions. The cross of High Sign Nugget to this mare S/W Red Velvet is the magic click - and has produced all of the most noteable offspring by High Sign Nugget.

High Noon's grandsire - the legendary "High Sign" won two NRHA Bronze Trophies (plus an Open Team Roping at the Quarter Horse Congress!) plus won more than 54 World & National titles in the USA ApHC Shows.

High Sign pictured above - ranked by the ApHC "Appaloosa Journal" to be the Appaloosa with the most performance wins, ever, is an ApHC Hall of Fame stallion.

His sire "High Time" rich in the foundation blood of Mansfield Commanche, was also a multiple World & National Champion.

This gene-pool is deep and consistent.
