On November 2, 2003 the Saskatchewan Reined Cowhorse Association (SRCHA) was formed, for the purpose of promoting Cowhorse events across the province.

Moved by Lorraine Gilchrist, seconded by Pat Henke that “Membership fees for the SRCHA be set as follows:
$30. per couple; with one vote.
$20. per person (voting membership)
$10. per youth (age 10 to 18 years; voting membership)
with SRCHA Membership required prior to competing at any SRCHA event.”
Passed.
Alissa Thompson moved, seconded by Sandra McCutcheon that “SRCHA Membership fees received in 2003 will be valid toward the 2004 membership; and that membership is based on the Calendar year [Jan.1 to Dec.31]”
Passed.
Kevin McCutcheon moved, seconded by Bill Palmer, that “Vicki Johnson, Alissa Thompson and Angela Moore carry signing authority for cheques, with 2 of the 3 signatures being required.”
Passed.
Discussions:
Various Committees will be standing, and volunteers will be encouraged.
The drafting of the SRCHA Rule Book will be underway by Committee Members, Lorraine Gilchrist, Gary Shinkewski and Kevin McCutcheon, based on the Alberta Reined Cowhorse and Northern Plains Association rule books, with some modifications. Intentions are to have a complete SRCHA Rule Book available for members by Jan., 2004.
Vicki Johnson, Allissa Thompson and Angela Moore will take steps to open the SRCHA Bank Account – preferably at the Royal Bank.
As soon as the SRCHA cheques are available, Vicki Johnson will apply for the Club’s Membership in the Saskatchewan Horse Federation. This membership will then allow each sanctioned Show to be covered by the SHF Insurance. Membership in the SHF is $120. per year plus $3/member for Clubs; and SHF Insurance is then available at $10/Show for a 5 million dollar liability insurance. [News items may also then be carried by the SHF magazine “Show Trail”.]
Because the Insurance availability through the SHF requires the Club to pay per member, all competitors at sanctioned shows must be members of the SRCHA prior to competition. SRCHA Membership Applications will be made available at each Show.
Members will receive one copy of the Rule Book and one newsletter per household.
