Line Breeding There's an old saying, "You don't know if you have a great breeding stallion until you breed him to his daughters." The results of very close 'line breeding' will show you where the 'weaknesses' may be in the line. By line breeding, both the good qualities and the bad qualities are magnified. If there are no "bad" qualities, then the theory is that you will have an exceptional result. In 2003, we had 2 foals sired by High Noon out of High Noon daughters. The leopard colt pictured left is one...He is shown here (top picture) at 20 days old & then at 12 months old. He is structurally perfect, and a real character, too ! His name is YOR Diddley Squat. The other line bred foal is a beautiful snowcap filly, named YOR Fine Line. Pictures are below ! |

YOR Fine Line - June, 2003 filly sired by High Noon out of a High Noon daughter "YOR Noon Special" (pictured here) This snow cap blanketed filly is really correct and are very pleased with her ! These pictures are showing her at 30 days old. Her dam is the one pictured on the Training & News page - nursing the black Angus cow ! This filly should be cowy, too ! Both of these line bred High Noon foals are super friendly and calm - with their sire's great curiosity about everything. They are both nice headed and very correct in the legs, with strong short backs. They are 75% High Noon blood. We think they'll be 'exceptional'.... |
